I was born in Brandon, MS and grew up in a small community called Dry Creek, which is midway between Star and Brandon. I am the son and grandson of deacons and am now a deacon and serve at the same small church where my family served.
I graduated from Florence Highschool in 1978 then finished a pre-veterinary medicine program at Hinds Jr. College. I joined the Mississippi air national guard to get the money for vet school, but when I got to Mississippi State University, life happened. I changed my major a few times then dropped out of college to join the active duty air force.
While stationed at Travis AFB in the San Francisco Bay Area, I met my wife, Jade. She returned to Mississippi with me where I rejoined the national guard and helped her start a retail store. I have now retired from the national guard but still spend sixty hours each week in the business.
Business ownership, military service and church service gave me a window into what is really messed up in the world. I wanted to do my part correcting as much as I could, so I got into politics. I ran for and lost several offices before finally figuring out that I was really running just to send messages. Creative writing is a much better way to communicate and sound the warnings. I am done with losing elections but there are more book ideas churning inside of me.
